Chiropractor Indicted on Insurance Fraud

A chiropractor, whose practice is located Paterson has been indicted on charges of insurance fraud. Attorney General Jeffrey S. Chiesa announced that the chiropractor, Joseph Salomone, stole $89,000 in insurance compensation by falsifying claims.

The 44 year old of Nutley has been charged with 125 counts of second-degree health care claims fraud, as well as other charges. The indictment states, Salomone, “submitted bills to the insurance companies based on…false, fictitious, fraudulent, or misleading forms.”

Salomone altered examination results of his patients so as to keep them visiting for chiropractic care long after the treatment had finished; it allowed him bill the insurance companies such as, Liberty Mutual, All State, among others; for most visitors were auto accident victims.

Joseph Salomone could face up to 10 years in state prison and fines upwards of $150,000.
