1001 Tires In Passaic River

1001 tires were recovered from the Passaic River, reported the Record. People from around the county drive to the river with one purpose in mind: to dump industrial waste, tires and all sorts of other rubbish, into the once beautiful and swim-able Passaic River.

In order to address that problem, a long, 100-yard fence will be erected around the main ares where much of the dumping is done, near Montgomery and River Street.

The fence plan hopes to put an end to illegal dumping of trash into the flow.
