Overloaded Buses

Hundreds of Patersonians work in New York; after a long day of work, they are forced to take the bus home to Passaic County, but the buses leaving for New Jersey are delayed; 1 in 4 buses leave New York bus stations late based, reported The Wall Street Journal.

161 and 193 both buses used by New Jersey residents left at least 5 minutes after the departure time. The lateness is mainly caused due to overcrowding, as large numbers of people switch to bus as their main form of transportation, the load on buses becomes heavy, and the NJ Transit is having difficult time coping.

Bus passengers are fed up with the delay. Some miss their dinner by the time they get home — having precious time stolen from their lives that they will never get back as a result of bus overcrowding.
