2 men transporting 12,000 dollars worth of illicit drugs were arrested by Pennsylvania State Police on Interstate 380.

Jerome Davis, 42-year-old, of Paterson and another man were inside a 1998 Nissan Maxima on I-380; the vehicle was going above the speed limit which prompted a nearby police officer to pull over the car to issue a ticket. After pulling over the vehicle the officer asked Mr Davis to step out of the vehicle, he was sitting on the passenger side; as Mr Davis was exiting the car packets of heroin fell on the ground.

A subsequent search of the vehicle yielded more than 130 packets of heroin.

Both men have been charged with drug possession and are being held at Lackawanna County Prison (in Pennsylvania) and a hearing has been scheduled for Oct.11, 2012.
