Red poles with yellow tapes went up around John F. Kennedy High School at the beginning of the week which turned into a massive fence that resembles a unsightly picket fence.
There are piece of the fence already built in front of Totowa Avenue which passes through the left side of the school where buses stop. Education officials say the fence is a must have to ensure the safety of the students.
Locals from around the area loathed the idea; some going to the extremes, stating it turns the school into more of a prison and less of a school.
Elected officials, some of them, came out against the idea during a City Hall meeting, but from the erection of the fence it seems to have amounted to naught.
The fence is only partially finished, and is likely to be finished before the weekend.
