911 Pranker Arrested

A man using cellphones continuously called 911 either for amusement or for some illegal business or something else but Fair Lawn Police caught the man on Friday, after he placed more than 40 false emergency calls, reported a local paper.

Police tracked him down using what is called triangulation, where cell towers exchanging data with the phone are used to locate individuals.

Cory Brown, 39-year-old, of Paterson, was arrested by cops after his phone was dialed which he picked up, and it was at that moment an officer heard a background noise, identified it as a leaf blower, and managed put the handcuffs on Mr Brown.

Mr Brown has been charged and released; a hearing is scheduled for October 24th, 2012.
