In March locals witnessed a man jump into the Passaic River; his body was never found after an investigation by the Paterson Fire Department. Earlier today, authorities recovered a body from that same river not far from Bergen Street.
Detectives from the Paterson Police Department are working to identify the man who was pulled out of the river on Sunday afternoon. It is unclear whether the man who jumped into the river was the one that was pulled out this afternoon.
Authorities are waiting to identify the man prior to connecting any dots to piece together a story of what exactly happened; the body, which seems to have been submerged underwater for a long length of time, will take sometime to identify.
