A driver of a SUV managed to crash into a parked vehicle and then the front of a two story building Sunday afternoon on Sherman Avenue.

These such incidents are not uncommon in the Totowa Section of Paterson where almost every day there are incidents of hit and run — where a drive hits a parked car and continues on — that go unreported. These incidents are periodic on Union and Totowa Avenues.

The SUV, a Honda Pilot, hit a parked car on Sherman Avenue; after hitting the parked vehicle, the driver lost control, got off the street and onto the sidewalk, and slammed into the first floor of the home on the same avenue. The driver sustained some injuries; however, they were not life threatening.

The impact of the crash was so severe that the Paterson Police evacuated the home pending a structural inspection.
