Dump truck crashes into apartment building on Katz Avenue

A dump truck crashed into an apartment complex on Katz Avenue, Tuesday afternoon, leaving the driver hospitalized. Fortunately the part of the building that was hit by the truck was vacant without any residents.
After the crash officials from the Paterson Fire Department cordoned off the street to clear the accident. The truck driver, who was injured in the accident, was taken to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center for treatment — his injuries are non-life-threatening.
When the truck struck the building it punctured a gas pipe which resulted in the evacuation of the building; however, after an inspection residents were allowed back in — only one tenant is without a home.
