Sheriff’s officer injured restraining a patient

Sunday morning an officer from the Passaic County Sheriff’s Office was injured in St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center while restraining a patient.

Scott Wolfe, the injured officer, an eight year veteran, went inside the emergency room at around 9:30am on Sunday and found a patient causing a ruckus, when he and the hospital staff attempted to bring the patient under control a struggle ensued.

During the scuffle Mr Wolfe suffered a dislocated ankle; surgery was set to be formed for his injuries on that same day.

Markus Sexton, 29, of Paterson, the patient, was charged with assault, and was taken to the Passaic County Jail. Richard Berdnik, the Passaic County Sheriff had nothing but praise for Mr Wolfe.
