Woman thwarts a robbery

A woman who was walking near Veterans Place on Monday afternoon was almost the victim of a robbery.
The woman was walking when a black male approached her. The suspect then attempted to steal her identification card and chain that she wore around her neck. The woman fought back.
The suspect was unsuccessful due to the woman’s reluctance to give up her belongings. Police are investigating the incident.
