22-year-old struck by bullet in the buttock on Park Avenue

A man who was walking on Park Avenue early Saturday morning was shot in the buttock, according to Paterson Police.
The victim, 22-year-old, was walking on Park Avenue at around 1:20am on Saturday, when he came near Madison Avenue and East 19th Street, where he heard gunshots. The man had been shot in the buttock; the victim quickly ran into a near by Walgreen on East 18th Street, where an off duty police officer was working.
The officer dialed the police, and the victim was transported to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center, where he is undergoing surgery for the gunshot wound.
Police are investigating the incident.
