Couple robbed near Hamilton Avenue with stun gun

A couple, man and a woman, were robbed near Hamilton Avenue last night by a suspect wielding a stun-gun, according to Paterson Police.
The man, 33-year-old, of Little Ferry, and the woman, 31, of North Arlington, were strolling in the area of Hamilton Avenue and William Street during the evening hours at around 9:30pm on Monday, when a man approached both of them holding a stun gun.
The suspect pressed the stun gun and tased the man in the neck, then the suspect pulled out a gun, pointed it at the woman, and ran off with her purse with all its valuable still inside.
The 4th Ward area where the incident unfolded is known for gang activity and drug dealing; it is not uncommon to see strange faces, mainly out of the surrounding suburbs descending after nightfall to buy narcotics. Police are investigating the incident.
