A 52-year-old man was shot in the area of 16th Avenue on early Friday morning, according to Paterson Police.

The victim, was outside at around 5am on 16th Avenue, where he was shot in the chest with a single bullet. The man was taken to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead sometime later.

Police have yet to release what the man was doing in the area or possible motive of the shooter.

Correction: It was stated earlier that the victim was 50; however, the prosecutors office confirmed the age of the slain was 52.
