Paterson Catholic charity receives $1.7 million grant

Catholic Family and Community Service, an anti-poverty organization which provides homeless families with shelter, was awarded more than $1.7m in grant money from the federal government.

The organization was awarded $1,738,210 in federal grant to provide needy families with assistance through housing.

The charity which is part of the Diocese of Paterson provides a host of social services in the community including: English courses for new immigrants through its Father English Community Center.

On its website the organization says its mission ” is to serve and address the needs of individuals, families, and groups in our community who are vulnerable, especially the poor. “
