8 men arrested in prostitution sweep

Eight men were arrested on Wednesday evening during a prostitution crackdown on Market Street, according to the Passaic County Sheriff’s Office. After receiving numerous complaints from citizens that prostitution was taking place in the area two under female officers were dispatched to the area, who pretended to be prostitutes, nabbing the following men:

Juan Perez-Gonzalez, 27; Simon Castillo-Paulino, 49; Armando Guzman-Garcia,23; Roy Nunez-Concepcion, 28, all of Paterson. And Luis Mayor-Salazar, 48, of Clifton; William Vasquez, 53, of Oakland; Daniel Tambini, 35, of Fair Lawn; Christian Velez, 22, of Fair Lawn.

Out of the eight men arrested four were Paterson residents, while the rest were from out of town. The johns attempted to solicit sex from the two undercover officers while still inside their vehicles on Market Street. All of the arrested individuals have been charged with solicitation of prostitution.

Each of the vehicle captured in the crackdown was impounded, and the men are awaiting appearance in the city’s municipal court.
