Officers responding to a domestic dispute call from a home on Lewis Street early Sunday morning uncovered materials for homemade bomb recipe and a marijuana growing facility in the basement.

At the scene police officers were told by a woman, who presumably called 911 that a man was cooking up explosives at the home located near Beckwith and 21st Avenues. The call came in at around 3:50 a.m. on Sunday, when officers responded to the domestic dispute. 30-minute later, officers called in the Passaic County Sheriff’s bomb investigation unit to the home.

Investigators responded to 151 Lewis Street, and found various bomb making materials; county investigators walked out of the home with large bags filled with what is being stated as bomb making items.

The K-9 unit uncovered a marijuana growing facility in the basement. County officials have yet to provide more detail on the investigation. As more information becomes available we will update.
