A surveillance clip released earlier today by the Paterson Police Department, in an effort to solve a shooting incident that happened in October 2013, shows a dark male wearing a hoodie power walking with a limp down River Street minutes after gunfire rang out at the intersection of Sparrow Street.

The suspect, described as a young black man with a “distinctive limp”, is seen walking on River Street presumably armed and out to shoot. The suspect made his way into the intersection of River and Sparrow Streets, shot a 42-year-old man in the leg, and is seen walking back through the same path. “The suspect in this video is described as an African-American male who is approximately 6’-6’3 in height and walks with a distinctive limp,” according to police.

The shooting incident took place on October 14th, 2014 at 9:00 p.m., according to police. Minutes after shots were fired police responded to the scene, and transported the victim to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center; the victim was shot once in the left leg.

After four months of investigating detectives were not able to identify the suspect. By releasing the video, police are hoping someone from the community will come forward with information about the suspect’s whereabouts.

Police have indicated there is a reward for information that will lead to the suspect being identified.

Any person with any information on the identity of this person is asked to contact Detectives Rick Ferreira or Carlos Charon at 973-321-1342.
