Enterprise gives $2,500 to Eva’s Soup Kitchen

A group of employees from Enterprise Holdings, best known for its car rental service, volunteered time at Eva’s Village, an anti-poverty organization, last week, and donated $2,500 to support the city based organization’s soup kitchen.
Employees from the company took part in mock job fair sessions where folks who go to the organization for their daily meals were able to receive employment advice like what to do at a job interview.
John Mattone, regional vice-president of the company, expressed his gratitude at being able to spend a few hours around the neediest of society. “We are honored to give back to the community through our work with Eva’s Village Soup Kitchen and their Workforce Development Program,” said Mattone in a statement.
The organization’s work force development program helps train homeless and others suffering from social ills the requisite skills to obtain and hold a job. The company’s employees were able to shed light on tips and tricks of successfully obtaining employment.
The company’s employees demonstrated their social responsibility chops by preparing and serving food at the organization’s kitchen on Market Street. “As 11.5% of New Jersey’s residents cannot afford to eat, we hope our support to Eva’s Village Soup Kitchen will provide more meals and new job opportunities,” said Mattone.
