A city man was shot multiple times on Albion Avenue during the late night hours of Monday, according to the Paterson Police Department.

The victim, 18-year-old, was inside a vehicle on Albion Avenue near Totowa Avenue talking to a group of men outside at 11:36 p.m. on Monday, when a gunman approached and fired at the victim.

“The victim was seated inside of a vehicle on Albion Avenue talking with a group of males when a male suspect approached,” according to police. “The suspect at that time produced a handgun and fired several times inside the vehicle, striking the victim, before fleeing the area on foot.”

Police received alerts of gunfire in the area. When officers arrived on the scene they were unable to find a victim. Minutes later, a gunshot victim with “numerous gunshot wounds in the upper body” had arrived at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center.

“The victim was able to drive to St. Joseph’s seeking treatment, and is currently in critical but stable condition,” said police.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Carlos Charon or Prosecutor’s Detective Ricardo Ferreira of the Ceasefire Unit at 973-321-1342.

If this was an innocent person just talking or saying goodbye to friends,it is a tragedy.i empathize with what his family is going through.
If he was a thug, leading the ghetto life,he knew its a possibility.Oh well,no big loss, and should get punished the same as the shooters for endangering the children and community.
