$7,500 paid out for motor vehicle accident involving a police car

Council members approved $7,500 to settle a lawsuit involving a city police vehicle during a special meeting of the city council Tuesday evening.
Santa Rojas, a city resident, was injured on July 28th, 2009, while inside a vehicle sitting in the passenger seat, according to city document.
The car Rojas was inside was struck by a city police vehicle, according to document.
Council members discussed the lawsuit in a closed door meeting with the lawyer representing the city, William Fraher, police chief, and Glenn Brown, public safety director.
Without any public discussion council members voted to approve the $7,500 settlement.
