With school returning to session in two weeks, a California based company is donating 150 supply-filled book bags to School 6 through a local non-profit organization.

The Los Angeles based CBRE Group which boasts as being the largest real estate firm in the world will donate the backpacks to the New Destiny Family Success Center.

“New Destiny is pleased to partner with CBRE Cares and CBRE New Jersey on behalf of some our neediest children and families here in Paterson’s 4th Ward,” said Carolyn McCombs, executive director of the center. “Thank you for your generosity.”

The company’s New Jersey branch is making the donation to one of the neediest elementary schools in the state. The state’s department of education places the school among the lowest performing schools in the Garden State.

“CBRE New Jersey understands the immense need that exists at Paterson N.J. School #6 and is dedicated to assisting NDFSC and CBRE Cares to provide students and faculty with these critical resources,” said Jeff Hipschman, senior managing director at the company’s local branch.

The center is seeking additional donations of supply filled backpacks or $25 individual contributions to purchase supplies to give to students before the 2014-15 school year begins on September 4. The center can be contacted at 973-278-0220.
