Three city men were arrested Monday during a drug bust on Danforth Avenue, according to Passaic County Sheriff Richard Berdnik.

Carlos Feliciano, 28; Jorge Garcia, 26; and Peter Burgos, 45, were arrested by detectives from the sheriff’s office acting on a citizen tip. “Detectives were provided information that individuals at 130 Danforth Ave. in Paterson were storing large amounts of the drug for distribution,” Berdnik said.

Authorities seized $2,722 in cash and over $1,500 worth of marijuana, Berdnik said. Detectives observed large bags consistent with packaged marijuana enter the location as they were monitoring the home.

Berdnik said detectives then commenced a short investigation. Sheriff’s officers detected marijuana odor coming from the basement apartment so they asked Feliciano, Garcia, and Burgos to search inside the apartment.

Authorities found nearly a pound of marijuana hidden under the cushions of a coach, Berdnik said.

Berdnik said all three have been charged with marijuana possession with the intent to distribute 1,000 feet of a school. The suspects were released pending court appearance, the sheriff said.

“I am glad that this neighborhood drug distribution location has been shutdown,” Berdnik said. “The residents of this neighborhood deserve better than having drug dealers as neighbors. I want to commend the PCSO Detectives involved in this short, but fruitful investigation.”
