A city teenager was grazed by a bullet inside her second floor apartment Thursday night when gun fire erupted outside her Main Street home, according to the Paterson Police Department.

The victim, 17-year-old, was inside her home in the corner of Main and Weiss streets at around 9 p.m. on Thursday when bullets entered her second floor apartment leaving a graze wound to her head.

“At this time it appears that a stray bullet fired from the street entered the residence and struck the victim,” said Patrick Murray, head of the Ceasefire Unit. “Detectives are currently canvassing the area, and the investigation is ongoing at this time.”

Police said the victim was transported to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center for treatment. The 17-year-old was treated and released.
