24-year-old man shot in the leg in city’s second shooting of the day

A city man was shot in the leg on Market Street during the late morning hours of Sunday, according to the Paterson Police Department.

The victim, 24-year-old, sustained a gunshot wound to the leg at around 11:20 a.m. on Sunday at Market and Southard streets, police said.

The victim was transported to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center for treatment, police said. He is in stable condition at the hospital, Patrick Murray, head of the Ceasefire Unit, said.

Earlier in the day, at around 5 a.m., a 27-year-old city man was shot in the head and left in the roadway on 10th and Madison avenues.
