A city man is in critical condition after he was shot in the head and left in the roadway during the early morning hours of Sunday, according to the Paterson Police Department.

The victim, 27-year-old, was found lying in the roadway at the intersection of 10th and Madison avenues at around 5 a.m. on Sunday with a gunshot wound to the head, police said.

“The victim was immediately transported to Saint Joseph’s Regional Medical Center, and is currently in critical condition,” Patrick Murray, head of the Ceasefire Unit, said.
