City police acting on a citizen tip raided a Chestnut Street home on Sunday evening arresting six people on drug charges. Police also recovered an assortment of drugs, and confiscated almost $3,000 in drug proceeds, according to police director Jerry Speziale.

City residents Damier K. Hansford, 22; Joel Rosa, 23; Ramon Then, 23; Michael Cabrera, 19; Denis Rojas, 28; Jesus Martinez, 23; were arrested during the raid at 72 Chestnut Street at about 7 p.m. by the city police narcotics unit.

Martinez and Then resided at the home which was under surveillance following citizen complaints of individuals dealing drugs in the area, said the director. “Community collaboration is paramount to our success,” said Speziale.

Police recovered 31 grams of cocaine, 14 Oxycodone pills, four glassines of heroin, and 125 grams of marijuana.

During the raid, police also recovered drug paraphernalia consistent with a drug packing facility like stamps, cut, scales, sealers, marks, and glassines.

$2,990 in suspected drug proceeds was confiscated from Martinez, said the director. The six face various drug charges including intent to distribute in park and school zones.

Hansford and Rosa purchased drugs from Martinez. The other four are dealers, according to police.

“Anytime the unit shuts down a location utilized to manufacture and distribute narcotics it puts us one step closer to our goal,” said Speziale.
