34 people displaced in Hamilton Avenue fire, Red Cross providing assistance

A late night fire that spread to three homes on Hamilton Avenue has left 34 people displaced.

Firefighters responded to the four-alarm fire on Hamilton Avenue at around 11:22 p.m. Tuesday. The blaze spread from that property to two other.

Residents living in the three homes evacuated themselves. No one was hurt in the blaze.

It took firefighters three hours to take control of the fire at around 3 a.m. Two of the homes have been damaged badly and the third was partially burned.

The American Red Cross is assisting 34 people in six families displaced by the fire. Three members Red Cross Disaster Action Team (DAT) responded to provide comfort and emergency assistance to the families affected by the fire.

Emergency assistance in the form of temporary lodging, food, clothing, and infant supplies are being provided to the families. The emergency assistance is provided free of charge by the American Red Cross.
