Council members appoint residents to various city boards

Six people were appointed or re-appointed to the boards of the Paterson Housing Authority, Paterson Board of Adjustment, and the Paterson Parking Authority.

Ramon Guzman was re-appointed to the city’s board of adjustment after his term expired on June 30th, 2015 by Alex Mendez, councilman at-large.

Similarly, Aheya Khan, whose term expired on June 30th, 2015, was re-appointed to the board of adjustment by Mohammed Akhtaruzzaman, 2nd Ward councilman.

Both Guzman and Khan will serve four years on the board from July 1st, 2015 to June 30th, 2019, according to city records.

Geraldine Rayfield, another city resident, was appointed to a one-year term on the board of adjustment. Her term expired on June 30th, 2015 – she was re-appointed by Ruby Cotton, 4th Ward councilwoman.

Rayfield’s term runs from July 1st, 2015 to June 30th, 2016.

Brent Nation was appointed to the housing authority’s board by William McKoy, 3rd Ward councilman.

Similarly, Joel Ramirez was also appointed to the housing authority’s board by Alex Mendez. Both Nation and Ramirez were appointed to five-year terms. The two men will serve from July 1st, 2015 to June 30th, 2020, according to city records.

Fabian Herah was appointed to the parking authority’s board for a four-year term by McKoy. Herah’s term runs from July 1st, 2015 to June 30th, 2019.

The six appointments and re-appointments were approved by the council during its re-organization meeting on Wednesday afternoon.
