A city man was arrested on charges he sexually assaulted a three-year-old child, according to the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office.
Ray Perry, 58, faces second-degree sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child, authorities said.
Perry allegedly sexually assaulted the three-year-old child on Monday. Neighborhood residents saw him touch the child and reported the incident to Paterson police.
Police and the prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit investigated the incident that resulted in Tuesday’s charges against Perry.
The sexual assault charge against Perry carries a maximum 10-year prison term with 85-percent before parole eligibility. The second-degree child endangerment charge carries another 10-year sentence in state prison, authorities said.
