City police officers from the Narcotics and Ceasefire Units addressed 23 locations in the city during a two-day crime suppression detail issuing 128 ordinance violations, 34 motor vehicle citations, said police director Jerry Speziale.
The two-day detail that ran from Friday through Saturday led to the recovery of half-pound of marijuana and 15 grams of MDMA, according to the director. Police targeted high crime areas like 10th Avenue, Rosa Parks Boulevard, and Park Avenue.
Speziale said the ordinance violations included obstruction of public passage, public drinking, and obstruction of commercial establishment. 18 noise ordinance violations were among the 128 tickets issued.
“We will continue to enforce the quality of life issues that expand and lead to public disorder in our community,” said Speziale. “The men and women responsible for handling these details are of the highest quality and are responsive to the needs of the community.”
