The city police quality-of-life unit responded to 122 calls for service having to do with loud noise during the weekend from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m., said police director Jerry Speziale.

Speziale said the issues were mitigated and 113 ordinance violations were issued as a result on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

“Clearly, this has enabled the patrol division to focus on more pressing calls for service, while the quality of life unit handles these nuisance calls, which erode and add to community dysfunction,” said Speziale.
