Three people were nabbed on drug charges early Saturday morning on Van Houten Street, according to Passaic County Sheriff Richard Berdnik.

Arrested were Paterson residents Juan Ocasio, 47; Maqa Robinson, 27; and Totowa resident Emily Huizing, 19, authorities said.

Ocasio and Huizing are charged with loitering to obtain or distribute drugs, authorities said. Robinson is charged with heroin, cocaine possession, and distribution near a school, Berdnik said.

Sheriff’s Officer Pagan hand-to-hand drug transaction on the passenger side window of a parked Hyundai. Pagan approached the vehicle, but the alleged dealer walked away and the car began to drive away.

Pagan returned to his vehicle and conducted a motor vehicle stop on Van Houten Street. He observed a large zip lock bag with suspected drugs underneath the front passenger seat. The bag contained 20 glassine envelopes of heroin, 18 bags of crack cocaine, 22 Xanax, authorities said.

“This arrest should once again send a message to individuals involved in the narcotic trade, that if you break the law, you will be investigated and arrested,” Berdnik said.
