Two people wounded in overnight Paterson shootings

Two people were wounded in separate Paterson shootings on North Main Street and East 33rd Street just minutes apart during the early morning hours of Sunday.

The first shooting occurred at around 12 a.m. in the area of 18th Avenue and East 33rd Street. A victim was wounded in the shooting, witnesses said.

The second incident took place at around 12:05 a.m. on North Main Street between Haledon Avenue and Stout Street. A victim was shot several times, witnesses said.

Police responded to the scenes and the victims was transported to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Police are investigating both incidents.

Sunday’s shooting happened less than 24 hours after a 63-year-old man was killed and another in his late 30s was wounded on Auburn Street between Broadway and Fair Street.
