Paterson man wounded in East 22nd Street shooting

A city man was wounded in a shooting early Wednesday morning on East 22nd Street, according to the Paterson Police Department.

The victim, 33-year-old, was wounded in the upper torso at around 2 a.m. on East 22nd Street off of 12th Avenue, police said.

Police received alerts of gunfire in the area and responded. No victim was located at the scene. Minutes later police received call that a gunshot victim had arrived at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center.

The victim is in stable condition, police said. Police continue to investigate the shooting at this time, Patrick Murray, head of the Ceasefire Unit, said.
