A 30-year-old city man was the victim of gun violence late Saturday night on Montgomery Street, according to police.

Rayshon Blow-Herdon, who lives on Montgomery Street, was found dead from an apparent gunshot wound at about 11:30 p.m. outside of 118 Montgomery Street, between Rosa Parks Boulevard and Mercer Street, said police captain Heriberto Rodriguez on Sunday afternoon.

Rodriguez said police officers responded after receiving notifications of gunfire in the area. Police received reports of four shots fired in the area prompting a quick response to the scene.

A second overnight shooting in the city left a 39-year-old man in critical but stable condition at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center. The victim was wounded in the neck in an altercation outside of Mo’s Liquors and Bar at the corner of Main and Weiss Streets at about 4:15 a.m. on Sunday, according to police.

Anyone with information is being asked to contact the city police Major Crimes Division at  (973) 321-1120 or (973) 523-TIPS.
