The city council approved a $65,000 payout on Tuesday evening to settle a discrimination lawsuit filed by a public works employee.

Walter Cruz, a public works employee, alleged the city discriminated against him, according to the resolution approving the settlement.

Further details were not available.

Council members discussed the lawsuit in closed-door session with city’s corporation counsel Domenick Stampone and public works director Manuel Ojeda before approving the settlement without any public discussions.

Congrats to Mr Cruz,I'm sure it was well deserved and warranted..there shouldn't have to be any discrimination what so ever when working for city government..I'm sure this incident took place under the former administration..Sad to say but JJ put the city back to the stone ages with his arrogant selfish antics..lets just hope for the best for the future of Paterson and everyone in it..GOD BLESS TO ALL..
