A city church is celebrating Kwanzaa on December 26, 2015 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., according to organizers.
St. Augustine Church’s multi-purpose center will serve as the venue featuring food, fellowship, candle lighting, libations, and cultural face painting by Creative Kids.
Larry Hamm of the Peoples Organization for Progress will deliver the keynote speech. Kwanzaa is a week-long celebration honoring the African heritage in African-American culture. It is observed from December 26 to January 1 ending with a feast and gift giving.
St. Augustine Church is located at 159 Governor Street in Paterson.
