After receiving a 25-day license suspension in October for promoting prostitution, the notorious go-go bar Sunrise Gentlemen’s Lounge opened while suspended earning a two-day suspension on Wednesday evening.

Frank Sciro, attorney for the establishment owned by Linvas Corp. located at 556 Straight Street, said his client was undertaking construction at the location for a week while under suspension.

The business was suspended for 25 days beginning on October 19th, 2015. It was cited on November 5th, 2015 for “improper advertising” and “permitted prohibited activity to take place during the license suspension period,” according to municipal documents.

The city’s Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) Board wanted to suspend the business for five days.

“Something’s got to be done,” said a frustrated James Briggs, one of the three commissioners on the ABC board. He suggested businesses like the strip club are flouting the rules and doing whatever they like.

The board’s prosecutor Frank Soto recommended a two-day suspension beginning on Monday, February 1st, 2016.
