Teaneck man wounded in Paterson shooting

A 42-year-old Teaneck man visiting a residence on Governor Street was shot in the hip area early Thursday morning and is in critical condition, according to police.

Police said the victim was wounded inside the residence. He was inside a home on Governor Street between Carroll Street and Rosa Parks Boulevard at about 12:20 a.m.

At this time it appears that the victim was visiting the residence when he was shot, said police. Police officers responded to the area after receiving information about a reported shooting.

The Teaneck man was transported to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center for treatment. He underwent surgery and is in critical but stable condition, according to police.

Detectives are interviewing witnesses and canvasing the area.
