Great Falls hosting picnic commemorating historic Washington, Hamilton, Lafayette lunch

The Great Falls National Park is hosting a picnic in the park event on Sunday, July 10th, 2016 beginning at 12:30 p.m. in commemoration of the historic lunch enjoyed by George Washington, Alexander Hamilton, and Marquis de Lafayette at the water fall in 1778.

Visitors are to bring their own lunches to the living history presentation of the 1778 picnic at the Great Falls.

After the welcome at 12:30 p.m. visitors will be able to meet with Washington, Hamilton, and Lafayette.

The picnic will conclude with an Alexander Hamilton-themed walking tour of the Great Falls which will end at the Paterson Museum.

The museum will have a traveling exhibition of Alexander Hamilton: The Man Who Made America organized by the New-York Historical Society. The exhibit chronicles the story of an orphan from the Caribbean who went on to become one of the most important figures in American history.

Paterson Museum will be open from 12:30 until 4:30 p.m. on picnic day.

Mark your calendar for the great picnic at the Great Falls National Park located at 72 McBride Avenue in Paterson on Sunday, July 10th, 2016 at 12:30 p.m.

The picnic is being put on by the National Park Service, Hamilton Partnership for Paterson, and the Alexander Hamilton Awareness Society.
