Two men were wounded in a late Wednesday night shooting on Rosa Parks Boulevard, according to the Paterson Police Department.

Police said a 44-year-old man was wounded in the upper torso and a 21-year-old was struck in the buttocks at around 11:30 p.m. on Rosa Parks Boulevard and Godwin Avenue.

Both victims were taken to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center. Police said the 44-year-old victim is in critical but stable condition and the 21-year-old is in stable condition.

Police responded to gunfire at the intersection and located the 44-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds. A short time later, officers responded to a Carroll Street home on report of a person shot.

Both victims were wounded in the same incident, police said.

“Ballistics evidence was recovered from the Rosa Parks Boulevard scene, and it has been determined that both victims were injured at the same location,” Patrick Murray, head of the Ceasefire Unit, said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Christopher Ravallese or Detective Francisco Brito of the Ceasefire Unit at 973-321-1342. Information can also be forwarded anonymously by accessing the Paterson Police website at patersonpd.com.
