Ten candidates are running for four board of education seats in the November school board elections, according to the Passaic County Clerk’s Office.

Seven candidates are running for the three full-term seats. Incumbents Kenneth Simmons, Christopher Irving, and Flavio Rivera have submitted petitions to defend their seats.

The incumbents are being challenged by former school board members Corey Teague, Joseph Atallo, city resident Stacey Coleman, and community activist Emmanuel Capers.

Three candidates are running for Michael Henry’s unexpired seat which is presently held by Errol Kerr. Kerr was appointed to the seat after Henry’s victory was nullified due to a failed background check.

Former school board member Manny Martinez and Mohammad Ramadan are challenging Kerr for the two-year unexpired term.
