Almost three dozen people were displaced after a four-alarm fire ravaged an apartment building on Harrison Street early Sunday evening, said deputy fire chief Pablo Del Valle.

Del Valle said the fire began at 7:22 p.m. and impacted 16 apartments at the Incca Carroll Street Houses in the corner of Harrison and Carroll streets.

Four units at 133 Harrison Street sustained heavy damage from fire and water. The building at the garden-style apartments that sustained damage was boarded up after the fire.

2 civilians were injured in the fire, he said. 16 children and 16 adults were displaced from the homes as a result of the fire.

Del Valle said the American Red Cross was at the scene to assist the displaced residents. He said the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
