A Fort Lee man and woman were apprehended at Roberto Clemente Park on Friday night after more than a mile-long pursuit, according to Passaic County Sheriff Richard Berdnik.

Matthew Bartlett, 29, and Nicole Pankin, 41, lead authorities on a chase from the intersection of Keen Street and Rosa Parks Boulevard to Roberto Clemente Park, authorities said.

Sgt. Damian Priddy attempted to conduct a motor vehicle stop, but the pair fled the scene.

Bartlett was charged with drug possession, eluding, and resisting arrest while Pankin was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, Berdnik said. Bartlett, driver of the vehicle, was found to have outstanding Passaic County Superior Court warrants for theft, burglary, and receiving stolen property, authorities said.

Authorities transported Bartlett to Paterson police lockup and Pankin was released on her own recognizance pending a court hearing, authorities said.
