Paterson police arrest three, seize almost 2,700 packets of heroin in Pennington Street raid

Three people were arrested and 2,677 glassines of heroin was seized during a drug raid at a Pennington Street home on Tuesday afternoon, said police director Jerry Speziale.

Police arrested city residents Jose Classen, 20, and his girlfriend Valentina Montealegre, 19, during the raid at the third floor apartment of 82 Pennington Street at about 12:30 p.m.

One of Classen’s customer was also arrested. Police charged Rachel Thiel, 40, of Morristown, with having 40 glassine of heroin. She allegedly purchased the heroin from Classen, said police.

Speziale said police also confiscated $7,090 in cash during the raid. 2 baggies of crack-cocaine was also seized, said the director.

“Illegal drugs have an impact on crime in our city and in an effort to combat it we will increase our operations,” said Speziale.
