Acting on numerous complaints of drug dealing in the area, city police arrested two men and seized 117 glassines of heroin and a revolver on Monday morning, said police director Jerry Speziale.

Police arrested Justin Jones, 23, of Paterson, and Kristopher Marano, 40, of Andover, at about 10:54 a.m. on Franklin and Mercer Streets.

Jones was charged with having 117 glassines of heroin and selling 41 packets to Marano, said police. He was also charged with various drugs and weapons offenses.

Police said Jones had a .357 Storm Ruger revolver without a permit. He was charged with having a handgun with previous criminal records.

Jones also had imitation drugs with intent to distribute, said police. Marano was charged with having 41 glassines of heroin, said police.

Marano and Jones were charged with intent to deal drugs close to School 10 and Nathan Barnert Housing Complex.

$566 suspected drug money was confiscated from Jones, said the director. The director said police setup surveillance of the area after getting large number of complaints.

Police said Jones lived at 121 Franklin Street.

“Narcotics investigators will continue to attack those involved in illegal drugs, which drives crime in our city,” said Speziale.
