Authorities charged two more people in Paterson’s weekend police-involved shooting, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia Valdes announced on Tuesday afternoon.

City residents Yordy Almonte, 23, and Kenyi Cruz, 19, were charged with attempted murder and two weapons offenses in connection with Friday night’s shooting on Oak and Madison streets, authorities said.

Yordy Almonte was arrested on Monday without an incident. Cruz was charged, but remains at large, authorities said.

Authorities previously arrested Adonis Almonte, 21, of Bronx, New York, and Carmen Ortega, 21, of Paterson on the same charges.

Authorities said the four acted together to cause death to an off-duty Harrison Police Department officer at around 10:30 p.m. on Oak and Madison streets by firing a handgun at the law enforcement officer.

The unidentified police officer did not sustain any injuries.

The four crashed a vehicle into a home at the intersection. Carmen Ortega, Yordy Almonte, and Kenyi Cruz fled the scene.

Adonis Almonte was arrested at the scene. He sustained non-life threatening injuries and was treated, authorities said.

Adonis Almonte’s bail is set at $150,000 cash. Ortega’s bail is set at $250,000 with no 10-percent. Yordy Almonte’s bail is at $500,000 with no 10-percent. All three are being held at the Passaic County Jail.

Authorties are seeking public assistance to locate Cruz. He is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone who sees him is asked to not approach, but call police immediately.
