A police surveillance operation on Godwin Avenue led to four arrests, seizure of a handgun, heroin, and marijuana on Wednesday, said police director Jerry Speziale.

Police arrested city residents Quinshawn Chapman, 21, of Harrison Street; Ramier Rivera, 20, of East 24th Street; Derrick McGill, 36, of Governor Street; and Larry Harris, 50, of Governor Street during the surveillance operation at 135 Godwin Avenue, according to police.

Chapman allegedly sold 7 glassines of heroin to Harris. Both were charged with heroin possession.

Chapman was additionally charged with dealing drugs close to School 6. McGill was charged with having 10 glassines of heroin, said police.

Rivera had marijuana and a Ruger LCP Laser Max .380 caliber handgun. He was also charged with receiving stolen property, said police.

“The narcotics division has been responsive to the needs of the citizens and increased its efforts to rid our city of illegal drugs,” said Speziale.
