A minor fire at a two-family home on Harrison Street in Paterson displaced nine people early Monday morning, said deputy fire chief Pablo Del Valle.
Del Valle said the minor fire originated in the basement of 207 Harrison Street at about 6 a.m. this morning. He said the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
“The building was shut down due to an electrical issue,” said Del Valle. He said 4 adults and 5 children were displaced due to the fire.
The building’s owner was on the scene to rectify the situation, said the deputy fire chief. He said the owner is in the process of addressing the issues and getting the displaced residents back into the building.
